What really helped me with my vocabulary was quizlet. It helped me remember what each word meant. Also what helped me was just hearing the word said by other people, or seeing it in a sentence with words I could comprehend because it helped me figure out if it was like a noun, verb, or adjective and how it fit into the sentence to see what it means. The way I was encouraging myself was I just think learning a new language was fun, especially Spanish, because most people speak it, and I was actually interested in learning it. I motivated my partner by telling her that we could get a good grade and that we can do this because it's not as hard as you think. My goals in having conversations are to make sure I can comprehend the words and phrases because if I just know a word without actually knowing what it means, it confuses me and messes with my head. I also want to be able to learn some new words that people often use when speaking Spanish. On a scale from 1-10 (1 being not comfortable, 10 being super comfortable) in the begining of the year I was a 1, but now I think i'm about a 7 on being comfortable speaking Spanish because Tagalog is similar to Spanish so I know a little more than some people, and I know how to pronounce most of the accents. If I had a conversation with someone I've never met who spoke Spanish, I think I'd be able to pick up enough words to understand what they're talking about, but I won't understand them completely and won't be able to respond accurately. A topic I'd like to discuss is sports because it's something I'm interested in and lots of kids talk about it these days. I'd also like to talk about social media like Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, etc. because it's what most teens are interested in. I liked working with a partner because we got to plan things out but I feel like working with you is less stressful because although I don't know what you're going to ask me, it would've worked for me better because it really shows you what I know and the vocabulary I've learned. It feels more like final and more real than with working with a partner. No I haven't watched any movies or television in Spanish because I'd be lost most of the time and probably be bored. Yes I've listened to music and the radio in Spanish because most people nowadays are making Spanish versions of songs and it'd sound better so I'd listen to it and me and my brother would always try to figure out what it means. I practice a little bit Spanish with my parents because Tagalog and Basaya is similar to Spanish so they know a little bit of the language, but also my brother's job has a lot of Spanish speaking people so he learns things and teaches it to me. Also I facetime friends and practice Spanish with them. When i'm around friends who already speak Spanish, I try to comprehend what they are saying and kind of speak with them too for fun. Reading the articles in class really helped me because it's fun learning new words and trying to pronounce them but also it helped me more with my comprehension.
